William Rawlings is a sixth-generation resident of Washington County, Georgia. A retired physician, he is an avid world traveler, photographer and prolific writer, including seven novels and six works of nonfiction focusing on Southern history. His most recent book, Crypto, will be released by Mercer University Press in August 2023. It is the second in a series of John Wesley O’Toole suspense novels set in Savannah. Rawlings has been twice awarded Finalist for Georgia Author of the Year in History for A Killing on Ring Jaw Bluff, an account of the crash of the cotton economy in Georgia in the 1920s, and in 2022 for Lighthouses of the Georgia Coast. His next and fourteenth book, scheduled for publication by Mercer Press in the fall of 2024, will be the third in the O’Toole series. For more information, please visit his website.
