Melanie Sue Bowles is the founder of Proud Spirit Horse Sanctuary – one of the most successful, longest existing facilities for at-risk horses in the United States. She has written three nonfiction books chronicling heartwarming stories from the sanctuary. More recently, Melanie Sue veered into fiction for young readers. Everything she writes is inspired by the 100s of animals that have called Proud Spirit home.
